Creation

Have a space in your classroom that enables creation, movement, or students applying what they learn to make a new product. How are your classroom expectations established? What does student responsibility look like in your room? Do you have rules that allow for student independence? The classroom culture is similar to environment but this is about how you are managing your space in a healthy way with rules and expectations. Environment is about the physical space, this is about how you create/build the "culture" in your room. Consider your room as a mini-island. This is your world and Utopia.

PLE Strategy: Culture

The Personalized Learning Environment (PLE) practice “Culture”

can  help your struggling readers develop stronger writing skills. Learning contracts are great ways to build culture and recognize your students targets and assessment.

Essential Questions to guide you:

•How can I manage the behavior in my classroom as a form of personalized learning?

•Can clearer expectations lead to student independence?

•How can my movement policies and behavioral management plan ensure a strong culture?
