 Reading

Reading area in a PLE classroom is a space for individual workers. Students who do not like participating in group work, and/or enjoy any assignment that requires a lot of reading. Do you create your own rubrics, or even use rubrics? Is your classroom teacher-centered or student-centered, maybe somewhere in-between? Do you know how to incorporate cooperative and independent learning in your classroom. As educators we use Gradual Release strategy to dissemate information, but do we consider this as a full implementation tool to give students independence.

PLE Strategy: Release

Personalized Learning Environment (PLE) practice “Release” can  help your struggling readers develop independent reading skills.

Essential Questions to guide you:

• How can rubrics direct student work?

• What is indpendent learning?

• When can I use gradual release to help students manage behavior?
